We have been focusing on improving the user experience, and our latest release v0.9.1 shows the results. It brings the following:
- Added support for MacOS 10.15.7 as the minimum compatible version, however we recommend keeping your computers updated to the latest version of MacOS for a better experience.
- Added High-Fidelity mode, making audio and video run at rates close to what you would encounter on the original hardware. The trade-off is that it will slightly increase CPU usage, but create a more immersive experience. We've managed to get 5ms divergence from original hardware over a recorded timeframe of 30 seconds of runtime.
- Improved in-app emulator accuracy to its best performance levels yet, on our quest to honour the original gaming experience.
- Major security and stability improvements, bringing the application closer to a stable release.
- The highlight of our work over the past month specifically is added language support, which allows users to select the language the app displays. At the moment you can select between English and Romanian (translated by our team), but expect a Japanese option in the upcoming release as well. In the future we will collaborate with professional translators to bring the app in even more languages, such as German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian.
