How to Locate and Send a Log File

Challenges with the Playback app may occasionally occur. When they do, your log files become an invaluable tool for diagnosing and resolving the problem.

Log files are automated records that software generates, detailing its operations. They offer a behind-the-scenes look at what the software was doing, particularly during unexpected events like crashes. By examining your log file, our developers can pinpoint the root cause of any issue, enabling them to refine the Playback app and offer you a seamless gaming experience.

Where to Find the Log File on Your System:

MacOS:

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Epilogue/Playback/crashes

Windows:

  • C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Local\Epilogue\Playback/crashes

Linux: Depending on your distribution, check:

  • ~/.local/share/Epilogue/Playback/crashes
  • /usr/local/share/Epilogue/Playback/crashes
  • /usr/share/Epilogue/Playback/crashes

Within these directories, search for a file named "runtime.txt".

Contact our support team, briefly detailing the issue you've encountered (mention if the bug or crash happens at specific moments or if certain actions seem to trigger it), and attach the log file before sending.

Once we receive your log file and accompanying details, our team will delve into the information to understand and resolve the issue.

Your patience and assistance are invaluable, and we promise to tackle your concerns swiftly and efficiently.
